Unlocking Hidden Potential: Navigating Your Signals Dashboard

Ever feel like you're sitting on a goldmine of information, but you're not quite sure how to tap into it? That's often the case with the data we collect online. We're constantly receiving signals – little bits of information about how people interact with our digital properties. But what happens to the signals that don't immediately fit into our existing audience segments or traits? They don't just disappear; they land in a place called Audience Manager, waiting to be discovered.

This is where the Signals Dashboard comes in. Think of it as your personal guide to the untapped potential within your data. It's designed to give you a clear overview of the signals that have been received but haven't been put to work in the last seven days. These are signals that are coming in, but aren't currently being used to define or understand your audience segments.

Why is this important? Because these unused signals can be incredibly valuable. They might represent emerging trends, new customer behaviors, or even entirely new audience segments you hadn't considered. The dashboard helps you spot these opportunities by highlighting the most active unused signals.

There are a couple of key sections to pay attention to. The 'Top Unused Signals' section shows you the 50 most frequent signals, whether they're brand new or have been around for a while but remain unused. This gives you a broad picture of what's accumulating. Then there's the 'New Unused Signals' section, which specifically focuses on signals that have recently started appearing but aren't yet integrated into your audience definitions. It's like getting an early alert for fresh insights.

It's worth noting that the dashboard focuses on signals that appear more than 100 times per hour. If a signal is less frequent, it's still captured, but you'd find it by using the 'Signals Search' feature. This threshold ensures that the dashboard highlights the most significant opportunities for immediate action.

Ultimately, the Signals Dashboard is a tool for proactive data exploration. It encourages you to look beyond your current definitions and discover new ways to understand and engage with your audience. By regularly checking in, you can ensure that no valuable data point goes unnoticed, helping you build richer, more accurate audience profiles and drive more effective marketing strategies.
