You'll head over to https://app.edulastic.com and sign up as a teacher. The very first time you log in, it's crucial to select your school and district accurately. This isn't just a formality; it ensures you can access resources shared by your colleagues and participate fully within your school community. Pay close attention to the school name, especially if there are similar options – choosing the correct one, often indicated in ALL CAPS, is key.

Next, you'll specify your grade level and subject area. While you can create multiple classes later, this initial step helps set up your account. Edulastic supports various standards, including Common Core ELA and Math, Next Generation Science, and state-specific standards. For subjects that don't have associated standards, like Art or Music, you can simply select 'Other'.

Once your account is set up, the next logical step is creating a class and adding your students. From your dashboard, you'll find an option to 'Create new class'. Here, you'll define your class's grade level, subject, standards, and course. You can even personalize it with a class image. After saving, you're ready to bring your students into the fold.

Edulastic offers a few flexible ways to add students. For this to work, your Edulastic teacher account needs to use the same email address as your Google Classroom account, and you must have signed up for Edulastic using the 'Sign up with Google' option. Another popular method is using a Class Code. Students, who will need their own Edulastic accounts (created using a username/password or by signing up with Google/Microsoft 365), can then join your class by entering this code. Teachers can easily find their class code under 'Manage Class'. Lastly, for those who prefer a more hands-on approach, you can manually upload students, either individually or in bulk from an Excel file or other document formats, specifying their usernames or names.
