Peacock in the USA: Your Gateway to Global Entertainment and the Olympics

Thinking about what's new and exciting on the streaming front in the United States? Well, if you're a fan of live events, gripping dramas, or even the fascinating lives of wild animals, Peacock has been seriously stepping up its game.

For those of us here in the US, Peacock is readily available, offering a direct line to a whole host of content. It's a pretty straightforward deal: if your device is physically in the States, you're good to go. For folks elsewhere, it's a different story for now, as Peacock hasn't rolled out to every corner of the globe just yet.

July 2024, in particular, looks like a banner month for the streaming service. The big headline, of course, is the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Peacock is promising comprehensive coverage, meaning you won't miss a beat of the 329 medal events. From the opening ceremonies on July 26th live from Paris, it's set to be an immersive experience for sports enthusiasts.

But the Olympics are just the beginning. Peacock is also rolling out some compelling original series and exclusive streaming debuts. Take "Those About to Die," for instance. This 10-episode drama series, starring Anthony Hopkins as Roman Emperor Vespasian, dives deep into the brutal world of gladiatorial combat in imperial Rome. Directed by Roland Emmerich, it sounds like a visually spectacular and intense watch, with all episodes dropping on July 18th.

Then there's "The Hungry Games: Alaska's Big Bear Challenge." This reality series follows the incredible bears of Alaska's Katmai National Park as they prepare for winter hibernation. Narrated by Rhys Darby, it offers a unique look at survival in the wild, and it premieres exclusively on Peacock on July 11th.

Music lovers will also find something to tune into with "Back to Black." This biopic, starring Marisa Abela as the iconic Amy Winehouse, explores her meteoric rise and tragic end. It makes its streaming premiere on Peacock on July 5th, adding to a slate of new movie titles available throughout the month.

And for the wrestling fans, Peacock is also bringing you WWE's "Money in the Bank" live from Toronto on July 6th. It seems like Peacock is really aiming to be a one-stop shop for major events and engaging original content for its US audience.
