Navigating Your Path to Wasabi: A Look at the Application Journey

Thinking about joining the Wasabi team? It's a natural curiosity, especially when you consider their mission to redefine cloud storage. If you're looking to bring your talent to a company that values innovation and a dynamic workplace, understanding the application process is key.

When you submit your application, you can expect an email confirmation from "My Workday UW (uw@myworkday.com)". It's a good idea to add this address to your safe senders list, just to make sure those important updates don't get lost in your spam folder.

Curious about where you stand? Your "Candidate Home" tab is your go-to spot. Here, you can easily check the status of your application, find your Job Requisition number (that's the REQ-0000####### code), review the job details, and even see when you applied. If your circumstances change and you're no longer interested, you can also withdraw your application directly from this tab by clicking the "Actions" option (those three little dots) and selecting "Withdraw Application".

Understanding the status updates can demystify the process. "In Progress" means your application has landed and is being reviewed for the basic qualifications. Once it moves to "Sent to dept", it's been screened by HR and passed along to the hiring manager for their review. They'll be the ones to select candidates for interviews, so keeping your contact information up-to-date in your profile is really important. You might also see "Not selected", which can happen at various stages, or "Recruitment Canceled" if the position is no longer being filled. And of course, "Withdrew" simply means you've opted out of consideration.

It's worth remembering that the timeline for filling positions can vary quite a bit. HR teams help identify potential candidates, but it's the hiring departments that reach out to the most competitive applicants for interviews.

If you hit a snag or have questions during the application submission, reaching out to hrhelp@uw.edu or calling 206-543-8000 is the way to go. Including that Job Requisition number in your email can really speed things up. For questions about your application's status, the team can guide you through the submission process, but they don't have access to specific hiring decisions – that information rests with the hiring department. And if you need disability accommodations during the application process, the Disability Services Office is there to help.
