Diving Deeper into GHP Support
For those enrolled in the Group Health Program (GHP), there's a whole suite of specialized support available.
Case Management (CM): If you or your dependents are high-risk patients – meaning you might need extra help managing complex health, social, or functional issues – UnitedHealthcare (UHC) offers Case Management services. The goal here is to help reduce and manage risk factors, aiming to prevent hospitalizations where possible.
Disability Claims: Navigating disability claims can be daunting. Participants with GHP long-term or short-term disability coverage receive extra help with applications, understanding the claims process, and getting clarity on disability payments. You can reach this specialized team at (828) 255-4971 or fax them at (828) 255-2861. For email inquiries, use ghp-disability@ntca.org.
Pharmacy Benefits with Express Scripts: Managing prescriptions is a big part of health. Express Scripts handles the pharmacy benefits management for the GHP Employer Group Waiver prescription drug plan through Medicare Part D. They can help with questions about new prescriptions, refills, ID cards, and formularies. For the GHP Rx Plan, call (800) 849-9410. If you have questions about the GHP Medicare Rx Plan, the number is (877) 703-7338.
FitnessOnDemand (FOD): Looking to stay active? FitnessOnDemand offers virtual fitness content at no extra cost to eligible participants, spouses, and dependents (ages 18+) enrolled in a GHP medical plan. Whether you're into mind and body exercises, HIIT, strength training, or dance, there's something for everyone. To get started, you'll need to request a registration link from Fitness On Demand using the GHP’s Fitness Interest Form. Once your eligibility is confirmed, you'll receive an email with your personal registration link.
GHP Wellness Connections: This program is designed for NTCA members with GHP medical coverage. Employees and their spouses enrolled in a GHP medical plan can actively manage their wellness through a dedicated portal and participate in telephonic coaching to boost their overall well-being. For wellness coaching, call (800) 478-1057 or email wellnessconnections@ntca.org.
Hearing Care: Through UnitedHealthcare Hearing, GHP medical plan participants can access a network of physicians and audiologists and even get discounts on hearing aids. You can reach them at (855) 523-9355 or visit their website to register and find a provider near you.
Hinge Health: For musculoskeletal health concerns, Hinge Health offers a virtual benefit providing personalized care plans. Covered entirely by the Group Health Program at no cost to GHP medical plan participants aged 18 and older, this digital program offers customized exercise therapy and access to a care team for back, joint, and muscle pain, all from home. Whether it's for recent injuries, chronic conditions, or post-surgery rehab, you can learn more or apply at www.hinge.health/ntca or call (855) 902-2777.
Medical and Dental Claims Inquiry: Need to check the status of a claim, understand benefit limits, or verify coverage? GHP participants can do all this and more by calling (828) 281-9000 and selecting Option 1, or by faxing (828) 255-9625.
myNurseLine: Health-related questions can arise at any time. myNurseLine, offered through OptumHealth (UnitedHealthcare’s clinical services division), provides care counselors available 24/7 to assist GHP participants and their dependents with health inquiries. The number to call is (855) 688-9773.
Precertification: For health utilization management, GHP works with United Clinical Services (UCS) through UnitedHealthcare and eviCore healthcare (eviCore). Healthcare providers initiate the precertification review for GHP medical plan participants. UCS can be reached at (800) 708-8940. If you need to check the status of an authorization, you can call (866) 581-5253.
Provider Network Search: Finding in-network providers is crucial for saving money. GHP utilizes UnitedHealthcare's extensive national networks. Using in-network hospitals and physicians means lower rates for both GHP and participants. You can easily search for providers online or by calling (800) 860-5203. If your preferred provider isn't yet in the UHC network, letting them know is the first step to potentially bringing them on board.
