Navigating TikTok's AI Frontier: Rules, Monetization, and What Creators Need to Know

So, what exactly counts as AI-generated content? According to TikTok Shop, it's anything created, edited, or synthesized using AI. Looking ahead, TikTok's community guidelines are set to be updated more broadly on September 13, 2025. These upcoming changes aim to simplify operations and enhance personalized experiences, with further nuances around AI-generated content, creator responsibilities, and commercial content guidelines. For instance, creators will be held accountable for what happens during their livestreams, even if third-party tools are involved. Commercial content will need to be openly declared, and content that steers users to purchase goods outside of TikTok Shop might see reduced visibility. The platform is also refining how search results and comments are personalized, making each user's experience unique.
