Navigating Sakai: Finding Imai Sokyu in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Stepping into the world of Assassin's Creed Shadows, players are often tasked with locating key figures to advance the narrative. One such character, Imai Sokyu, plays a role early in the game, particularly during the "Searching Sakai" main quest. If you're finding yourself a bit turned around in the Port of Sakai, trying to pinpoint his exact whereabouts, you're not alone. It's a common early-game hurdle, and thankfully, he's not too far off the beaten path.

Imai Sokyu can be found within the town of Sakai itself, situated on the eastern coast of the Izumi Settsu region. More specifically, he's located in an abode nestled between the Money Changer District and the Sakai Firearm District. Think of it as being right on the main street of Sakai, making him relatively accessible. For those who prefer a more direct approach, you can even enter his house through the backdoor, which is conveniently located right behind the same building.

Now, how do you actually spot him? The game offers a helpful mechanic: using a Scout. While a Scout won't give you a precise map pin, it will reveal his general location. Keep an eye out for a light blue dot on your compass or within your field of vision when you're in the vicinity. This visual cue is your best friend in pinpointing Sokyu's exact spot. Some players have noted his house is closer to the center of Sakai rather than the southwest, so keep that in mind as you search.

Finding Imai Sokyu is often tied to a larger objective, which involves tracking down a Shinbakufu villain known as the Golden Teppo. After you've had a chat with Sokyu and learned about the tea ceremony, your next steps will likely involve meeting a tea merchant and acquiring a kosode. These tasks, while seemingly straightforward, can sometimes feel a bit muddled in the quest structure, but locating Sokyu is the crucial first step in this particular sequence.
