Power armor can feel like a second skin in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4, offering protection and strength. But there are moments when you might want to step out of that hulking suit—whether it’s for a stealthy approach or simply because you've reached your destination. Here’s how to gracefully exit power armor on PC, Xbox, and PS4.
To remove your power armor, all you need is a simple button press. On PC, just hit the 'E' key while standing near the suit; on Xbox One, press 'A'; and for PS4 users, tap 'X'. This will prompt your character to unbuckle from the cockpit and step out into the wasteland once more.
But what if you're dealing with an NPC who has met their untimely end while still clad in their own power armor? In this case, things get a bit trickier but not impossible! First off, you'll need access to console commands if you're playing on PC. Approach the fallen enemy and use the command resurrect followed by hitting enter. This will bring them back to life momentarily.
Next up is targeting that precious fusion core—the heart of any power armor setup. You’ll want to attack it until its health is low enough so that it drops off automatically when defeated again (yes, it's quite brutal!). Once you’ve successfully knocked down their core's health bar significantly enough—and then dispatched them—you'll find yourself able to loot their now-unoccupied suit!
Remember though: every action has consequences in Fallout 4's rich narrative tapestry. Engaging with these mechanics can lead not only to acquiring new gear but also crafting stories worth sharing around campfires with fellow survivors.
