There's a moment, isn't there? That quiet hum inside you, a melody waiting to be sung, a rhythm yearning to be played. Maybe it's the shower-singing kind of urge, or perhaps it's the professional performer whose voice feels a little weary after a long night. Or maybe, just maybe, that piano in the living room has been gathering dust, a silent testament to a musical dream you haven't quite let go of.
This is where Higher Voice Studio steps in. It’s not just another music school; it’s a place founded on the belief that everyone – yes, everyone – has a musical voice waiting to be unlocked. Since 2011, Hilerie Klein Rensi has cultivated a space where learning to sing, play an instrument, and express your unique artistic self is not just encouraged, but actively nurtured.
What started with Hilerie’s extensive experience as a private instructor and performer across opera, musical theater, and rock, quickly grew. She’d already guided over a thousand students, from aspiring classical musicians to seasoned country singers. But she saw a need for something more – a unified approach to vocal technique, delivered by a team of experts. So, in 2014, she began training other talented teachers, creating a collective vision for healthy, solid vocal development.
And then there’s the space itself. In 2017, Higher Voice Studio moved into a beautifully renovated 6000-square-foot building in downtown Carnegie. Imagine nine teaching studios, welcoming lobbies, a dedicated classroom, and even a performance venue. It’s a hub designed not just for learning, but for sharing and celebrating music.
But it’s not just about singing anymore. Recognizing that many singers want to accompany themselves, piano lessons are now a cornerstone. Learning piano, as any musician will tell you, enhances so many aspects of musicality. Whether you want to read music, play by ear, dabble in jazz, classical, pop, or improvisation, they’ve got you covered. It’s about making music accessible, whether you're learning to play from a page or just want to jam with friends.
What truly sets Higher Voice Studio apart, though, is their philosophy. They understand that learning an instrument or honing your voice isn't always a straight line. It involves experimenting, falling, getting back up, and trying again. Their instructors aren't just skilled musicians; they are experts in the process of learning. They’ve walked the path themselves and are passionate about guiding others. There are no long-term contracts here, because they believe you should want to be there, just as much as they want you to be.
It’s a community built on the idea that trying boldly, failing loudly, growing endlessly, and creating joyfully are all part of the journey. It’s a place where the belief is simple: bringing out the best in each other helps to bring out the best in ourselves. It’s about finding your Higher Voice and setting it free.
