When you hear about a K-pop group, you often think of synchronized dances and catchy tunes. But sometimes, there's a whole lot more going on behind the scenes, a depth to the members that makes them more than just performers. That's certainly the case with 2Z, a four-member band that debuted in early 2020. Managed by UZUROCKS Entertainment and GOGO2020, they kicked things off with their EP, ‘We Tuzi’. The current lineup, as it stands, includes Hojin, Junghyun, Bumjun, Nua, and Zunon. And for their dedicated fans, they're known as 'From A'.
Let's take a moment to get to know these individuals a bit better, moving beyond just their stage names.
Bumjun: The Versatile Leader
Bumjun, born Park Bum Jun, is the leader and drummer, also lending his voice as a sub-vocalist. He entered the world on February 3, 1999, making him an Aquarius. Standing at a commanding 185 cm (6'1"), he's quite the presence. Interestingly, Bumjun was the first member to be revealed, and he's also active as a model for his agency. It's fascinating to learn that he met fellow bandmate ZUNON back in 2017 while studying Modeling and Acting at Kookmin University. They became good friends before even joining 2Z. He originally played keyboard but stepped up to the drums after the previous drummer left. His favorite season is spring, and he even draws inspiration from EXO's Kai as a role model. He's known for his adventurous hair colors and has a background as a Taekwondo instructor, which he even showcased in the music video for “East End.” He's also a skilled driver, often helping Junghyun out, and even made his acting debut in the web drama Behind Cut.
ZUNON: The Artistic DJ
ZUNON, whose birth name is Park Jun Eon, joined the group later, revealed on July 5th, 2020. Born on April 30, 1996, he's a Taurus. At 184 cm (6'0"), he's not far behind Bumjun in height. ZUNON takes on the roles of DJ, keyboardist, and sub-vocalist, showing off a wide range of talents. He started learning piano as a child, inspired by a friend he thought looked cool playing. He's mentioned that if he hadn't pursued music, acting would have been his path, and he's even made a cameo in a music video. He holds a construction labor qualification and even worked in security for a year. He's the only member with an 'I' in his MBTI, preferring his alone time. Like Bumjun, he also attended Kookmin University's Modeling and Acting program.
Hojin: The Main Vocalist with a Global Outlook
Hojin, born Kim Ho Jin, is the main vocalist of 2Z. He arrived on July 3, 2001, making him a Cancer. He's the tallest of the group at 188 cm (6'2"). Hojin was the last member to be revealed and, like Bumjun, is also an active model. His favorite season is winter. He's currently studying English and has a reputation for being quite a picky eater, famously avoiding vegetables and sauces. His favorite fruit is the peach. He met Jiseob in middle school at a modeling academy and they both went on to study fashion modeling. Despite disliking karaoke, he was inspired to audition for a band after seeing Nirvana's “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” He even appeared on the survival show Artistock Game. He has a younger brother who looks just like him and has a scuba diving license. He's also a fan of Coldplay.
It's clear that each member of 2Z brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the table, making them a fascinating group to follow, both on and off the stage.
