Uninstalling apps from your iPhone 7 is a straightforward process, but it’s always good to know the steps clearly. First things first: if you have any subscriptions tied to an app that you no longer need, make sure to cancel those before proceeding with the uninstallation. Deleting an app doesn’t automatically cancel its subscription.
To begin, locate the app you wish to remove on your home screen. If you're having trouble finding it, swipe down from the middle of your screen and use Spotlight Search by typing in the name of the app.
Once you've found it, press and hold the app icon until a menu appears or all icons start jiggling—this indicates that you're in edit mode. Tap 'Remove App' from this menu. A prompt will appear asking if you want to delete the app; confirm by tapping 'Delete App,' then tap 'Delete' again for final confirmation.
If you'd rather not deal with menus at all, there's another method: simply press and hold any empty space on your home screen until everything starts shaking (the same as before). You’ll see a small ‘X’ appear in the corner of each removable app icon. Just tap that ‘X’, confirm deletion when prompted, and voilà! The unwanted application is gone.
Keep in mind that some built-in Apple apps cannot be deleted from your device—these include essential tools like Safari or Mail. However, many third-party applications can be removed without issue unless restricted by parental controls set up on your device.
If after trying these methods you're still unable to uninstall an application due to restrictions or settings issues, check under Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps where you can enable deleting apps if it's currently disabled.
