A Simple Guide to Deleting Cookies on Your PC

Cookies are like little notes that websites leave on your computer, helping them remember who you are and what you've done. While they can enhance your browsing experience by keeping you logged in or remembering preferences, there are times when clearing these cookies is a good idea—like when you're concerned about privacy or just want to free up some space.

So how do you go about deleting cookies from your PC? Here’s a straightforward guide that will walk you through the process across different browsers.

For Google Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the window.
  2. Select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down and click on 'Privacy and security'.
  4. Click on 'Clear browsing data'.
  5. In the pop-up window, check ‘Cookies and other site data’ along with any other types of data you'd like to clear (like cached images).
  6. Choose a time range at the top; for all cookies, select ‘All time’.
  7. Finally, hit ‘Clear data’.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Launch Firefox and click on the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner.
  2. Go to 'Options' (or 'Preferences' depending on your OS).
  3. Click on ‘Privacy & Security’ from the left sidebar.
  4. Under Cookies and Site Data, click ‘Manage Data…’. You can choose specific sites or remove all by clicking ‘Remove All Shown’ or simply hitting ‘Remove All’.
  5. Confirm by clicking OK when prompted.

For Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Edge and select More (three dots) in the upper right corner, and then choose Settings. 2 .Click Privacy, search, and services from left panel . 3 .Under Clear browsing data ,click Choose what to clear every time you close browser option 4 .Check Cookies as well as any other options you'd like cleared each time you close Edge ,and then toggle it ON if not already enabled 5 To manually delete existing cookies ,go back under Clear Browsing Data section ,select Choose What To Clear button ;checkmark boxes next relevant categories including Cookie And Other Site Data before selecting appropriate Time Range setting followed finally pressing Clear Now button !
