As the winter chill sets in, London transforms into a magical wonderland. The streets are adorned with twinkling lights, and the air is filled with festive cheer. For many students at King’s College London, this season can be bittersweet—especially for those staying behind during the winter break. But fear not! This year, King’s Wellbeing team has organized an exciting event to ensure that no one feels alone or isolated over the holidays.
Enter Winter Buddies—a heartwarming initiative designed to bring together students who find themselves in London when most of their peers have gone home for Christmas. On Tuesday, December 16th from noon until 3:30 PM at the Franklin-Wilkin Building Canteen on Waterloo Campus, you’re invited to join a vibrant gathering filled with activities that spark joy and creativity.
Imagine walking into a room buzzing with laughter and conversation as fellow students engage in games and crafts while sharing stories over a delicious free festive lunch. It’s more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to forge connections that could last well beyond your time at university.
Previous attendees have shared heartfelt testimonials about their experiences: "Being in London on my own over Christmas was horrible; thank you so much for getting me out of my dorm and helping me meet new people." Another student reflected on their initial hesitation but ultimately expressed gratitude: "I was scared to come to this but I’m really glad I did—I made new friends and had a great time!"
With only 150 places available, signing up early is essential if you’re looking forward to making memories this holiday season. You can secure your spot by completing the Winter Buddies form provided by King’s College. If questions arise or if you need assistance along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out via email—the Wellbeing team is here for you!
So why not take this chance? Embrace what could be one of your most memorable winters yet by stepping outside your comfort zone and joining others who share similar feelings during these chilly months.
